A fire burning in the foothills off Highway 21 has grown to 3,500 acres.
The Mile Marker 14 fire, also known as MM14, started near Hilltop Station and is burning north toward the High Bridge. Fire officials say it is still zero percent contained.
Highway 21 was closed for several hours between Lucky Peak Dam Road and Robie Creek Road, but has since been reopened, although a pilot car was being used to direct drivers through the impacted area.
Investigators have determined the fire was human caused, although how it started is still unclear.
