UPDATE: Table Rock Fire Scorches 2,500 Acres, 85% Contained

Fire crews continue to battle a wildfire burning near Table Rock.

The fire was reported just before midnight at Table Rock, before it then spread to the Harris Ranch area.

Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan says, “what we do need the public to do is not to drive in this area. People are clogging up the road, trying to come and watch the fire and it’s hindering us, getting our equipment in there.”

Officials say it has burned 2,500 acres and is 85% contained. 100% containment expected at 10 PM. Two structures including a home were destroyed. Warms Springs Road is back open but there are fire hoses laying across the street in the Mesa area, so drive slow.

The fire is contained in Boulder Heights, Mesa & Table Rock areas. Crews continue to focus on the east side of the fire.

The fire was caused by fireworks.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up for the family who lost their home in the fire. You can find it here: https://www.gofundme.com/2c4e932b
