Nampa Mayor nominates Huff to be new Police Chief

The Nampa Police Department is one step closer to having a new Chief. Mayor Bob Henry says Lieutenant Joe Huff is his pick to take over the department. Lieutenant Huff says he got this news this morning.

“After current Chief Craig Kingsbury officially leaves the department on Thursday, I will take over as the interim Chief through the weekend,” said Huff.  “Then this Monday, the 21st of December, I will go in front of the City Council for approval.”

In a statement, Mayor Henry said he interviewed three candidates…including Deputy Chief Brad Daniels and Lieutenant Joe Ramirez..and that all three were qualified and presented themselves well. Henry says he likes Lieutenant Huff’s vision for growing the force to meet future needs.
