The Mayfield Bridge over Interstate 84, east of Boise at milepost 71 (Stage Stop), has reopened. It was struck by a rental truck shortly before 6:30 a.m. Monday. Eastbound I-84 remains reduced to one lane at this time in the immediate area.
ITD bridge inspectors have determined the structure is safe, and traffic is permitted to drive on it. Lanes have been narrowed on the overpass, and motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling in the area.
The bridge column that was struck will be replaced. Damaged interstate guardrail was replaced earlier today.
