The last few weeks of Summer vacation I had hoped to squeeze in one more camping trip, or at the very least get out on the river with my boys and do some fly fishing. One problem: I have children who suffer from Athsma. It’s not always a problem, but right now it’s terrible.
Thanks for that, Soda Fire… That means my kids will for the forseable future be playing indoor games. Not cool, when all they really want to do is head to the water park or throw the ball around in our yard.
I think I also suffer from a touch of athsma myself, but have never been officially diagnosed. To be honest, I would know nothing about athsma or other breathing issues had it not been for my kids and taking THEM to the doctor.
It’s also alot more common that you might think. If you smoke or live with a smoker, of course, you are at risk. Ask yourself this: have you ever caught yourself weezing after you workout? Maybe you get a little chest tightness? I’m not saying you have athsma, but it might be worth keeping an eye on.
Good Luck to all our firefighters, and I hope you all stay safe.
