Idaho taxpayers just spent $120 million dollars to renovate the Statehouse, but now they’re going to spend nearly half a million more.
Further renovations are needed to bring the Capitol into compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.
According to the Idaho Statesman, a complaint to the U-S Justice Department led to an investigation, which found more than a hundred changes that need to be made.
They include more wheelchair ramps, wheelchair accessibility in the House and Senate galleries, and Braille signage.
The work is expected to start this summer, and wrap up in July of 2017.
