Idaho leads the way in creating construction jobs…at least in terms of the percentage the industry grew in the last year. Craig Shaul with the Idaho Department of Labor says most of the new construction jobs statewide were in commercial and industrial construction.
“Our reports indicate that’s about 4,400 new additional jobs on top of where we were last year at this time.”
In the year March 2014 to March 2015, the Associated General Contractors of America reported Idaho’s construction workforce grew by over 14%. North Dakota, Washington and Colorado also grew a lot in terms of percentage.
But Shaul says Idaho has a long way to go to get back all the construction jobs lost since 2007.
