Here’s a medical update for all of those concerned or just interested.
After 8 hard months of fighting cervical cancer, including several medical appointments, 2 surgeries, and a lot of medication, I am officially cancer free.
I have gotten a second opinion (a cervical cancer specialist out of Oregon) and he too agrees.
Although the cancer is gone, there are still high levels of pre-cancer cells in me that could one day turn cancerous. The doctors have informed me that I have a 90% chance of it coming back in the next 5 years, but we will be keeping a close eye on it.
Thanks to everyone who helped me through this long journey. I will be advocating for my friends and family, even strangers, to get checked yearly for cancer. At 24-years-old it was the last thing I thought would happen to me.
