Many people would be surprised to know that I do enjoy listening to country music. Now, I'm not obsessed but I will listen to it every now and then. Wednesday night was the CMA Awards. I probably watched the 1st hour and a half and then turned it off because I was very disappointed. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood were very funny together. But the acts were terrible. Miranda Lambert singing that bass song with some pop act was horrible. They sounded like they couldn't sing. And plus that is a pop song. What is she doing on a country music award show. And then Ariana Grande performed. Also, a pop song. Very disappointed. They made a big deal about Taylor Swift not being allowed on the show because she is no longer country and then they invite two pop singers….wow.
Another reason I was disappointed was the clothing choices. Miranda Lambert wore a short blue dress at the beginning with just a small spot of black covering a part of her chest. Why would you wear that to a award show? The dress was very inappropriate and reminded me of Lady Gaga. Another outfit problem was Jason Aldean. He was wearing jeans that were covered in rips (intentionally I may add). Jeans like that should not be worn by a man. Or I think her name is Casey Musgraves. She had a giant poof on her head. It was like watching the Jersey Shore all over again.
Overall, most of the performances were good, like Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, and Carrie Underwood. This whole change has been wondering though is pop and country music will merge into just one show one day. They seem to be inviting anyone to perform on any show. We'll see what the future holds.
